Growing in SERVICE
Pope Francis tells us in the Joy of the Gospel #8 "that if we have received the love which restores meaning to our lives, how can we fail to share that love with others?" How we spend our time using our talents is so important in our friendship with Christ and one another.
'"as each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace.'" 1 Peter 4:10
To grow in service, I plan to:
identify, develop, use and share my God-given gifts and talents with my family, friends and the Saint Simon community
join one new parish ministry this year
Practice corporal works of mercy by:
visiting someone who lives alone, or is homebound or incarcerated
feeding the hungry (ex: contributing to or coordinating a food drive, serving at Family Shelter)
participating and/or joining St. Vincent de Paul society
helping to build a house for Habitat for Humanity
supporting pro-life organizations and activities
participating as a family on a service project like our annual Thanksgiving baskets
Living our parish mission by walking and working alongside the Catholic Community of St. Anne parish in Cap Rought, Haiti.
St. Vincent de Paul:
An international organization of men & women joined together in spiritual growth through service to those who are in need and suffering.
9.15 am Nursery
: Volunteering during the 9.15 AM Mass providing child care.
Volunteer at Mass as lectors, greeters, servers, and extraordinary ministers.
Meals for Families in Need:
Provides meals to families at times of need, after a birth, illness, or surgery.
St. Simon school ministry:
Dedicated to the spiritual and academic development of the whole child preparing students for life long education and Catholic faith in a Christ -center and safe environment.
